Traditionally we have been very successful in Surrey over the years indeed we have carried out the greatest number of projects here since we set up Montagu Land in 1993.
We have acquired sites and completed projects in most Local Authority areas including developments in Warlingham, Caterham, Oxted, Oxshott, Egham, Englefield Green, Godalming, Cranleigh, Hindhead, Farnham, Woking, Reigate, Banstead, Kingswood, Tadworth, Walton, Camberley, Lightwater, Windlesham, Sunbury, Guildford, Leatherhead, Bookham, and Ashtead amongst others.
Land values in Surrey are typically the highest in our area of operation and the demand for new housing has always remained strong even through the recent recession.
As a result of Green Belt policy and also the limited amount of available brownfield land in Surrey much of our work has typically involved the sensitive redevelopment of garden land. We expect this emphasis to change in the future as there will be a greater protection for domestic gardens but matched with a modest relaxation of Green Belt boundaries in order to achieve agreed Local Authority housing targets.
