The rural and coastal county of West Sussex has seen considerable housing growth in recent years with housing numbers significantly higher than in other parts of our area of operation.
Away from the constraints of Green Belt much of this growth has been in the greenfield development of land promoted through the planning system over a period of years. West Sussex has far fewer brownfield opportunities and most of these have now been completed. Garden development which was also a source of considerable new housing in the recent past is also expected to be more limited in the future.
We have been involved with many projects across West Sussex, including sites in Hassocks, Horsham and Chichester. We very much enjoy working here in an area of great natural beauty, excellent communications and very good land values. We also enjoy the proactive and positive approach of many of the Local Authorities who are often keen to encourage rather than restrict new housing.
Montagu Land are one of our favourite acquisition and development specialists, we love the sensitive way that they deal with landowners, always providing a clear and concise lead in negotiations and working diligently to ensure that a the job gets done smoothly and quickly.
